Live rhythms of Cuba @ After Office Hours Music for Dancing Come and stimulate your senses with the latest exhilarating sound from newly formed CAMINA – Cuban 6-piece band blending Timba with a twist of Rock Rap and Regueton!
The band brings together six highly talented individuals from different backgrounds sharing a passion for music, creativity, innovation, artistry and above all friendship
All the musicians have worked with the best bands of Salsa and Timba in UK. Michel on timbales from the South Caribbean. Orestes Noda plays Congas, has worked with several bands and also works on his own projects. Kishon at the piano leads his own band and has been in the music scene for sometime now.
On Bass the accomplished Jimmy, also works his own project. Nick Smart on the trumpet, has completed his own CD met with great critique.
Felix Gonzalez the band leader, singer and percussionist has vast experience playing with several bands in the UK including Osvaldo Chacon y su Timba.

FELIX GONZALEZ
Felix Gonzalez Band Leader,Vocals, Bongos and Timbales. Passion for Live music, the rich heritage of Cuban rhythms and love of innovation in producing new sounds has motivated him to bring together musicians with a similar vision. Over the last 10 years his talent has found him playing frequently with the top Cuban bands in the country and touring extensively abroad: France, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Luxembourg, Switzerland..
He has played with amongst others Osvlado Chacon y su Timba, Orquestra Cache, Robin Jones, Merengada, Raices Cubanas…
NICK SMART
Nick is in demand as a trumpeter in a wide variety of styles. His work in pop/rock music, including the band Spiritualized, has taken him on tour through the U.S.A. and Canada, Europe, Japan and various radio and television performances including Later with Jools Holland, Top of the Pops, The Cut with Jo Whiley, The Jonathon Ross show and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno from Hollywood.
He has played with many visiting international salsa artists and has performed with the Lady Salsa show on a tour of Taiwan, as well as concerts in Istanbul, Portugal, Spain and Dubai with a variety of salsa bands. Since 2006 he has been the trumpet player for the James Taylor Quartet and arranger/MD for the JTQ Big Band. Nick has recorded in a variety of commercial settings for radio and television and was recently a soloist on the soundtrack to Paul Merton’s “Silent Clowns” series for the BBC.
KISHON KHAN
Kishon is well established on the World Music and Latin-Jazz scenes as a performer, composer and arranger. He became hooked on Cuban timba and salsa after spending eight months studying and playing with top musicians in Havana. Amongst others, he has worked with Ayub Ogada (Realworld), Captain Yaaba (Fab), African Bushman (Mercury), Francis Fuster (Paul Simon) and Bukky Leo (Fela Kuti).
In 95 he took his first trip to South Africa, followed by numerous lengthy trips to Havana Cuba between 96 and 99. During this time he continued to cement his reputation for versatility sessioning with bands such as Roberto Pla, Robin Jones, Bukky leo, Paapa J Mensa, and forming a new outfit Motimba, releasing their first album “Monkey Vibrations”
As well as sessioning in London, he also performs with his quartet – Khandela – having recently played in the House of Commons, aswell as opening for Zakir Hossain and Hariprasad Chaurasia at London’s Queen Elizabeth Hall – and is currently promoting his new project – Lokkhi Terra – blending Bangladeshi traditions with African and Latin American and jazz traditions.
ORESTE NODA
Oreste Noda, recently arrived from Matanzas (the great centre of Afro-Cuban religion culture and drumming), He has performed on stage with some of the most celebrated artists, such as Ibrahim Ferrer (Buena Vista Social Club). Noda started his career playing Tombone but naturally also played Conga drums and other percussion instruments, however through Ibrahim’s Ferrer and Roberto Correa’s guidance and other influential musicians, he improved his technique in order to play percussion professionally. Since arriving in London in 2004, Noda has played in concert at the Royal Festival Hall and toured with the Jazz Jamaica All Stars and Hugh Masekela (including “Mobo” Award Winner Soweto Kinch). His latest experiences playing with different bands have led him to Ska with Ska Cubano,Roberto Pla,Papa Noel, Afro Beat with Bukky Leo and Dele Sosimi, Mortimba, Indian music with tabla player Fazal Qureshi and Pandit Dinesh together with Kishon Khan, Mark Mon Desire and Lokkhi Terra.
Noda came to London in 2004 where Hugh Masekela was at one of his appearances at the Jazz Cafe London: “This guy is so good he should be arrested” Hugh Masekela
JIMMY MARTINEZ
Jimmy was leader and bass player of leading young Cuban Son band "Asere". With them he toured extensively and arranged and recorded 2 CDs. He has been living in England for 2 years where he has been playing with many top Latin bands.
