COMPANY OBJECTIVE
Cuban people and culture have captured the world through their rhythms and folklore. We believe that music and dance is inseparable from the Cuban culture and its global appeal is both irrefutable and contagious. We are in support of Cuban artists (and non-Cuban connoisseurs of Cuban culture, music & dance) keeping the traditions alive and encouraging emerging talent. This helps to ensure the preservation and evolution of Cuban culture into the future generations. By educating and sharing this wealth of music and dance heritage, the Cuban community living and working in the UK can integrate with the Latin enamoured British public and establish their rightful place in the Salsa revolution.

MORE ABOUT CUBAN CULTURE
The Culture of Cuba enjoys a rich heritage in the field of art, music and literature and an international reputation as being one of the richest cultures in the world. Indeed, many believe that the Cubans are born artists.
One of the important factors that have greatly affected the culture is the Cuban Revolution that occurred in 1959. Cuba has passed through four historically important generations and is also affected by other important cultures of the world such as the European Culture, African Culture and the North American Culture. All these significant factors accounts for the cultural diversity that comes across in the musical land of Cuba.
Music and dance is an integral part of life for Cubans and many important dancing forms such as Salsa have their roots in Cuba. Religion holds an important place in the life of Cubans with the main religions being Catholic and Santeria. Cuba also boasts a really rich literature that has given rise to many important writers and poets.

COMPANY HISTORY
Clave y Son Company was formed on 23rd July 2004 by a group of friends sharing the same vision - to promote Cuban culture in South America and to the rest of the world: Marcos Rivero, Elias Martin, Diego Rivero, Sandra Rivero & La Orquesta Guapacha’ under the direction of Romil Travieso and Marco A. Veizaga. From its inception the company quickly gained momentum and continued to grow and expand as more and more people were inspired by the dream.
During the year 2004 we organised a multitude of events and several successful promotions.
We hosted tours to La Higuera (the death site of the revolutionary “Che” Guevara) and opened a bar “Troba Cubana”.
We had studied music and dance together and frequently choreographed routines for ourselves. This ultimately led us to form our own Academy of Cuban music and dance in 2005. We launched the Academy with a grand event featuring a concert by Guapacha, dance shows and a party that continued into the daylight hours two days later!.
The Academy was a huge success from the word go but travel beckoned and we made the decision to put the company under new direction and continue our mission further a field.
Later the same year we began a tour of Cuba, visiting Havana, Bejucal, Guanabacoa, Havana Vieja, Santiago de Cuba, Santa Cruz & Varadero.
2007 saw us set foot on European soil eventually arriving in England.
